Molecular Laboratory Specialist

Job Description

Our multinational business partner which operates in poultry sector is looking for a ‘’Molecular Laboratory Specialist'’

• Perform routine molecular diagnostic tests, including PCR, qPCR and RT-PCR
• Conduct nucleic acid extraction processes and ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
• Develop, optimize and validate molecular diagnostic methods and protocols
• Support primer and probe design and the development of disease-specific testing methods
• Analyze, interpret and report laboratory test results through laboratory information systems
• Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for molecular laboratory processes
• Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 quality standards and laboratory documentation requirements
• Manage and monitor internal quality control processes
• Follow the calibration, maintenance and proper use of laboratory equipment
• Follow new technologies, diagnostic kits and scientific developments and support their implementation in the laboratory
• Provide support to serology and bacteriology laboratories when required and collaborate with other laboratory teams
• Prepare regular reports on laboratory activities and test results for the Laboratory Manager

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Microbiology or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in molecular laboratory techniques
• Hands-on experience with PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR and nucleic acid extraction
• Experience in molecular test development and validation is preferred
• Experience in veterinary diagnostics and/or poultry diseases is an advantage
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory standards is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory work and documentation
• Strong quality orientation and a continuous improvement mindset
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and laboratory systems
• Good command of English
