Molding Engineer / Process Development Engineer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled 'Molding/Process Engineer' on behalf of our partner client, a global leader in packaging technologies delivering operational excellence, speed, and quality across international markets.

Develop, assess, and document new and existing injection molding processes.

Implement and evaluate process changes designed to improve product quality, productivity, and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).

Experienced in the maintenance, commissioning, and production processes of multi-cavity injection molds with complex sliding core mechanisms.

Develop and optimize injection molding process parameters for new products.

Skilled in the installation, commissioning, start-up, and optimization of injection molding machines.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians, operators, and other molding personnel.

Develop and maintain process documentation, ensuring processes and procedures are clearly stated and understandable for all employees.

Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, improve yield and throughput, drive cost reduction activities, and improve part quality.

Demonstrated ability to start-up, operate, and shut down process-related equipment.

Able to work independently on new process development as well as troubleshooting current production issues.

Work with equipment and material vendors to resolve machine and material issues.

Monitor and report issues with injection molds; make recommendations for refurbishment based on production factors such as cycles, process capability, and tooling history.

Facilitate and support facility safety, environmental, and ergonomics efforts.

Troubleshoot molding processes, material, or equipment issues.

Collect and analyze data on individual processes to identify and improve process capability.

Play a leadership role in continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics, Polymer, or a related Engineering discipline.

At least 3 years of practical work experience in an Injection Molding Operation.

Strong and diverse technical background in injection molding processing, tooling, equipment, materials, manufacturing, and quality.

Self-starter with high self-motivation, able to work with minimal direction.

Ability to manage multiple start-up projects simultaneously.

Demonstrated superior communication (written and verbal), teamwork, and organizational skills.

Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Ability to lead others, including the indirect supervision of process technicians.

Working knowledge of a wide range of thermoplastic materials and their properties.

Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
